Hairdressing Prices: An Hourly Rate

I charge $110 per hour.  Inclusive of colours or standard treatments.

Hairdressing is one of the only professional services where Clients pay a fixed price for a service that can vary considerably.

Clients often do not get the full benefit of a lifestyle and maintenance consultation, being hurried into ‘same as last time’, because a lot of salons are run on 40 to 45 minute appointments.

Also, Clients can have very thick, long and curly hair: so unless the appointment is ‘just a trim’ it can mean a hairdressing service takes longer than an arbitrary 45 minutes, especially for a first appointment.

In that situation, salons that do run on 45 minute appointments either add random surplus charges for ‘colour’ or ‘thickness’ or ‘treatments’ or they reduce quality by rushing the appointment and the resulting cut or colour.

I believe this reduces the quality of the service.

My reputation reliies on for repeat business so I give my Clients exactly the time required to really get the most from the consultation and hairdressing service, at every appointment, and in 15 minute increments.

So if you need an hour, or an hour and 15 minutes, that’s what you get.

That means a professional cut, colour, or blow dry, in the approprioate time and value it deserves.
